How to Use Google Reviews to Choose the Right Stunt Driving Law Firm in Ontario (2026)

So you’ve been charged with stunt driving in Ontario, and now you’re trying to figure out who to hire. You’re Googling law firms, reading websites, comparing prices—and you’re seeing a lot of Google reviews. Some firms have dozens. Some have hundreds. But how do you actually use those reviews to make a smart decision?

Here’s the thing: Google reviews are one of the most useful tools you have when choosing legal representation for a stunt driving charge. But only if you know what to look for. Let’s break it down.

Why Google Reviews Matter When Choosing a Stunt Driving Law Firm

Legal services—especially for stunt driving cases—are competitive in Ontario. Every firm knows that Google reviews influence who you call first. But the reviews aren’t just a marketing tool for the firm. They’re a research tool for you.

A firm that takes Google reviews seriously is a firm that takes client satisfaction seriously. They know that every case matters, because every client has the opportunity to share their experience publicly. That kind of accountability works in your favour.

Ontario court data from October 2024 to September 2025 shows that 5,451 out of 11,284 stunt driving charges—48.3%—were withdrawn before or during trial. The right legal representative, chosen carefully, can make a real difference in your outcome.

How Many Reviews Should a Stunt Driving Law Firm Have?

More reviews generally means more experience. A firm with 30 or 40 reviews has handled a reasonable number of cases. A firm with several hundred reviews has likely handled thousands of stunt driving cases over multiple years.

Volume matters because stunt driving law is specialized. You want someone who has seen every variation of these charges—different speeds, different courts, different prosecutors, different circumstances. A firm with hundreds of reviews from real clients has that depth of experience.

That said, don’t just look at the number. A firm with 50 detailed, specific reviews from stunt driving clients may be a better choice than a firm with 200 generic one-line reviews across multiple practice areas.

What to Actually Look for Inside the Reviews

The star rating gets your attention. The actual review text tells you what you need to know. Here’s what to look for:

Mentions of stunt driving specifically. If a review says “they handled my stunt driving charge” or “got my stunt reduced to speeding,” that’s direct evidence of relevant experience. Generic reviews about “great legal help” don’t tell you whether the firm actually specializes in your type of case.

Details about communication. Did the firm keep the client informed throughout the process? Were they responsive to calls and emails? Communication is one of the biggest complaints people have about legal services, and reviews will tell you quickly whether a firm gets this right.

Specific outcomes. Reviews that mention charges being withdrawn, reduced to careless driving, or reduced to a lesser speeding offence are gold. They tell you what the firm has actually accomplished for people in your situation.

The overall experience. Look for reviews that describe the process from start to finish. Did the client feel supported? Were expectations set clearly? Was the fee structure transparent?

Do Perfect 5-Star Ratings Matter?

Not as much as you might think. In fact, a firm with a 4.8 or 4.9 rating across hundreds of reviews is often more credible than a firm with a perfect 5.0 across a handful of reviews.

Here’s why: no firm makes every client happy every time. The legal system is unpredictable. Sometimes outcomes aren’t what clients hoped for, even when the firm did excellent work. A slightly imperfect rating with hundreds of reviews tells you the reviews are genuine.

What matters more than the number is the pattern. If the overwhelming majority of reviews describe professional service, clear communication, and good outcomes—and the occasional lower review describes a situation where expectations didn’t align—that’s a healthy, honest profile.

Pay attention to how the firm responds to negative reviews too. A firm that responds professionally and thoughtfully to criticism is a firm that cares about its reputation and its clients.

Red Flags in Google Reviews

Not all review profiles are created equal. Watch for these warning signs:

Very few reviews. A firm that handles stunt driving cases regularly should have a meaningful number of reviews. If they’ve been in business for years and only have a dozen reviews, that raises questions about volume and engagement.

All reviews posted around the same time. If 20 reviews appear within the same week, that can indicate solicited or incentivized reviews rather than organic client feedback.

Vague, generic language. “Great service!” and “Highly recommend!” repeated across multiple reviews without any case-specific detail can be a sign that reviews aren’t from real clients with real experiences.

No mentions of stunt driving or traffic law. If all the reviews are about family law, real estate, or corporate matters, and you’re hiring them for stunt driving, the reviews aren’t telling you what you need to know.

Beyond Google Reviews: What Else to Check

Look at Their Website

A firm’s website tells you a lot about their focus. Does it profile the actual people who will represent you—their names, experience, and qualifications? Or is it a faceless operation with stock photos? A firm that specializes in stunt driving will have detailed pages about the law, the penalties, and the defence strategies—not a single paragraph buried under twelve other practice areas.

Ask About Their Track Record

When you call, ask specific questions. How many stunt driving cases have they handled in the past year? What percentage of charges were withdrawn or reduced? A firm with real experience will share real numbers without hesitation.

Check Their Court Knowledge

Ontario has dozens of Provincial Offences Courts, and each operates differently. Waterloo withdrew 87.3% of stunt driving charges before trial. Barrie withdrew 78.8%. York Region withdrew just 11.6%. A firm that regularly appears in your local court knows the judges, the prosecutors, and which strategies work.

What Real Clients Say About Choosing NextLaw

After reading all the reviews I gotta admit I was skeptical at first. After speaking to Jon on the phone I decided to employee him to take my case. He’s definitely proven to live up to the hype. He got my stunt charge reduced to 15 over and saved my career. He was also communicative during the entire process, and kept me updated at every step. Reliable, and transparent. If you’re in the GTA and looking for a good paralegal, forget the competition. Go with nextlaw, you won’t regret it.

Nothing short but amazing! I was very skeptical reading all these 5 start reviews however they are totally deserving. My son was charged with stunt driving in a mall parking lot early in the morning with no one around (except the cop across the street). I needed some help and was thankful I landed in the right hands. From beginning to end, I was kept well informed of the process and what to expect. Long story short, the charges were dropped. I am forever grateful!

Dan & Jon were incredible to work with. Being slapped with a stunt driving charge can be pretty jarring. Especially if you’re just cruising along like I was. The guys over at NextLaw were incredibly knowledgeable & reassuring. They walked me through every step of the process. Their expertise in the area of stunt driving is more than impressive, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of my case.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many Google reviews should a stunt driving law firm have?

There’s no magic number, but a firm that specializes in stunt driving should have at least several dozen reviews—and ideally hundreds. More reviews generally indicates more experience with these specific cases. A firm with 500+ reviews from real clients has likely handled thousands of stunt driving charges.

Are all Google reviews trustworthy?

Not always. Look for reviews with specific details about stunt driving cases, communication, and outcomes. Vague one-line reviews, clusters of reviews posted at the same time, or reviews that don’t mention the type of legal service should be treated with caution.

Does the star rating matter more than the review text?

The text matters more. A 4.9-star rating across hundreds of reviews with detailed descriptions of stunt driving outcomes is far more valuable than a perfect 5.0 across a handful of generic reviews. Read the actual experiences, not just the numbers.

Can stunt driving charges be reduced in Ontario?

Yes. Ontario court data shows that 48.3% of stunt driving charges were withdrawn before or during trial between October 2024 and September 2025. Charges are commonly reduced to careless driving or a lesser speeding offence through negotiation with Crown prosecutors.

What are the penalties for stunt driving in Ontario?

A conviction carries a mandatory licence suspension of 1 to 2 years for a first offence, fines from $2,000 to $10,000, possible jail time up to 6 months, 6 demerit points, and insurance increases of 300–500%. The total financial impact can reach $25,000 to $75,000+ over three years.

Should I hire a specialist or a general practice firm?

A specialist. Stunt driving law in Ontario is complex and the penalties are severe. A firm that handles hundreds of stunt driving cases per year will know the courts, the prosecutors, and the strategies that work—knowledge that a general practice firm simply won’t have.
